I have special memories of this place. It's where my kid-self experienced the grandiosity of the Pacific Ocean for the first time on Long Beach - a feeling I won't ever forget. It is also where I experienced seeing my first wild orca, and where I first saw bioluminescence on Chesterman Beach. Each time I have been there, I was in bliss.
It's a place of "doing", not just "seeing". There is nothing glitzy about Tofino and Ucluelet, but that's kind of the point. The laid back attitude of everyone here ties it all together, or maybe the area simply attracts those seeking a certain community. Grab some good company and make the long windy drive down the highway. I promise you it'll be worth it.
